DP__2152 We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Brenda & Thomas, who were married September 16h, 2017. DP__2589 When and how did you meet? We have actually known each other for over a decade but we did not strike a romantic relationship till the summer of 2012. We started talking via social media just as old friends catching up and slowly from there we started talking every day and our friendship grew stronger and eventually became romantic. How long did you date before he popped the question? We were together almost three years when he got down on one knee. How did he propose? He surprised me on a trip to NY (which was supposed to be gift for completing grad school). He set up a fake photoshoot in Central Park in front of the Bow Bridge. We were supposed to be looking for a restaurant that was far away from where we entered and once we found it there a was mysterious woman that we followed down to where the photographers were set up that were posing as photography students that were looking to take photos of a couple for an assignment. They walked us through the steps and once I turned around for the last shot, there he was down on one knee. Where were you married and how did you pick the place? We were married at the Colonnade Hotel in Coral Gables. We choose the venue because of the grand staircase, the ambiance of the Rotunda and the overall beauty of the hotel. I remember seeing photos of a wedding there almost ten years ago and I always wondered what it would be like to get married there and walk down the staircase to my husband. What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why? The theme was regal elegance. The colors were gold, ivory and black as an accent color. I selected black to give the wedding a more polished look and to be as formal and black-tie as possible. I felt that the Rotunda was so grand that the theme needed to match the hotel. Where did you go for your honeymoon? We want to Las Vegas and stayed at a beautiful suite on the 22nd floor of the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress? I choose Wonderland Bridal for the reception dress and the bridesmaids dresses because the women of Wonderland Bridal were very warm, welcoming and always made me feel like I was shopping with old friends and so it was only natural to have them help me find something that would go well with the venue and theme. Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal. My experience was nothing short of amazing. I have built a friendship with Alicyn that made me feel like I was at home. When it comes to trying on gowns there are several different styles, color ranges and price ranges to choose from within the store. Most important the women are very honest when it comes to having your best interest at heart.  What was the best part of your wedding day? The best part of the day was taking part in all of the traditional reception activities like the first dance, throwing the bouquet and the removal of the garter. Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding? My best advice would be to take your time and remember that on the day of to enjoy all the hard work because everyone is there to celebrate the joining of you and your significant other.
