My husband and I met at work five years ago. I was moving back to Boca Raton from Fort Lauderdale and wanted to get a job closer to home. I was working as a bartender and decided to apply in Mizner Park at a restaurant named Racks. He was a manager at the time and hired me. He was extremely charming and so sweet and it took him a couple of months to finally get the courage to ask me out on a date. And the rest is history!
How long did you date before he popped the question?
We dated for about a year before he asked me to be his wife. I think we both knew that we would last forever and things just felt right with us.
How did he propose?
We were on a cruise in the Caribbean and decided to go on a horseback riding excursion in Jamaica. I didnt know it at the time but he had the ring with him wanting to do it on the horses together. Little did I know that the men in charge of the excursion pick one person from the group to go on the crazy horse and that happened to be me. It was so fun but we didnt have a chance to link together because my horse was everywhere. I was holding on for my life.
Since that didnt go as planned he picked a more intimate spot on the ship before dinner and proposed. It was absolutely beautiful.
Where were you married and how did you pick the place?
We were married in Hackettstown, New Jersey. I am originally from New Jersey and lived there until I was sixteen. My mother passed away when I was ten years old so all of my memories from that state include her and I felt closer to her having it there.
My husband and I visited our actual venue first and decided to go on a couple of other appointments just to take a look but nothing compared to Davids Country Inn. It was so charming and rustic and felt perfect from the first moment we walked into the building.
What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?
The Inn was extremely chic and rustic so we basically stuck to that theme. I was in love with the color champagne for my bridesmaids dresses and wanted their bouquets to have a marsala and teaberry coloration to them.
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We actually leave for our honeymoon on Tuesday, July 25. We are going to France!! We are staying on Gerard Bertrands winery in the south of France and then making our way to Paris.
Why did you choose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?
I chose this store because I knew I wanted a Stella York gown. The store came highly recommended and had a wonderful selection of her dresses.
Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.
I had the best time shopping for my dress. It is so difficult picking out a wedding dress but Patti and Alicyn were so patient and accommodating. All of my close friends were there to help pick my dress and the minute I had it on, I was in love. Patti and Alicyn are an absolute pleasure and a dream of a team to work with. I cannot thank them enough!
What was the best part of your wedding day?
The best part was having all of the people that we both love in the same room together at the same time.
Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?
I would advise couples to enjoy every moment of planning and work together with compromise. It is a day that you will never forget and it is a day that flies by way too fast!
