We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Jena & Rey, who were married February 4th, 2017.
When and how did you meet?
Summer of 2008. After a night out, Rey found himself in need to get to his car. I was asked by Ramon, my friend and neighbor, to drive him and Rey to pick up Reys car. I arrived at the house and Rey introduced himself and jumped in the back seat. As a thank you for taking him to his car, Rey took me to breakfast. We talked for a while and he invited me to come to a party later that night. I went to the party with friends. He kept asking me to go on a date and I finally gave in. We went to Starbucks and spent the afternoon talking and the rest is history.
How long did you date before he popped the question? 8 years
How did he propose? Rey proposed on Christmas Eve 2015, in front of our families. We were opening presents and he had thrown me off all month telling me he had got me the Apple Watch for Christmas. He used an Apple Watch box and placed the ring box inside. I unwrapped the paper from the box and could not understand why everyone was so excited for me to actually open the Apple Watch box. When I did, I saw the ring box and was speechless.
Where were you married and how did you pick the place?
Walt Disney World. Any one that knows us knows we are HUGE Disney fans; it is our second home. So it was the only place that seemed right.
What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?
Although we got married in Disney I wanted an elegant wedding. The colors we chose were purple and silver.
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We did not take a honeymoon as Rey was scheduled to take the Florida Bar exam 2 weeks after the wedding. We are planning a 1year anniversary/honeymoon trip.
Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?
I was referred to Wonderland by my co-worker (Pattis sister). It was the first time I had ever tried on dresses and Patti knew exactly what I would love. Though she gave me the opportunity to try on every style dress, she saved the best for last, I did not want to take it off. I knew it was my dress.
Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.
I loved my experience at Wonderland. Patti and Alicyn are super friendly and knowledgeable. I loved that whether you are there to find your dream dress or just for a fitting they are attentive to you and only you. They went above and beyond to make sure everything about my dress was perfect.
What was the best part of your wedding day?
Everything! From the beautiful flower arrangements to the décor, and most of all seeing Rey smiling/surprised face when the ceremony doors opened.
Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?
For out of town guests (or all guests really) make a wedding website with any and all information you think guests might need (area hotels, directions, ceremony/reception times, dress code, weather, ect.) so that guests arent calling you.
