We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Stephanie & Samuel, who were married December 17, 2016.
When and how did you meet?
It was 2011. I added him one day on Facebook because we had a ton of mutual friends in college and I thought he was cute! We never officially met until one day he tapped me on the shoulder at a restaurant and said Hey youre my friend on Facebook! I told him was short like me (which I liked), and he told me he respected my honesty, haha! We hung out a few times after that, and then he asked me to be his date for Valentines Day. He came over that night and made me AND my kitty a valentines dinner!
How long did you date before he popped the question?
3 ½ years.
How did he propose?
I am totally Disney obsessed, and I would talk to him about how I had always wanted to eat inside of Cinderellas castle but had never gotten to. One day, he made the reservations for us to attend breakfast at Cinderellas Castle. It was so beautiful and special. After we had finished breakfast, I asked if he was ready to leave, and he said wait, we have a royal dessert coming too. Just as he said that, our server came walking over to our table with a covered plate. When he pulled the cover off, there was a glass slipper, inscribed Samuel and Stephanie 11.22.14 Dreams do come true and it was surrounded by rose petals. He got on one knee, pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him! After I said yes, Princess Jasmine came over and hugged me! It was such a magical moment!
Where were you married and how did you pick the place? We got married in Estero, FL. Our venue was at Grandezza Country Club. As soon as we walked in, we knew it was the right place for us. The staff was amazing, and the club was just so beautiful and elegant. It felt so right.
What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?
The theme was Cinderella. Cinderella has always been my favorite Disney princess, and since we got engaged at Cinderellas Castle, we decided we wanted to make the theme for our wedding Cinderella too. So we chose Cinderella blue, white, and incorporated a lot of silver and golds.
Where did you go for your honeymoon? We went to the Ashville/Brevard area of NC where we stayed in a cabin in the mountains. It was one week before Christmas, everything was so beautifully decorated, and the weather was amazing! One of the best weeks of our life!
Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress? I was looking for my dream dress online, and found it. Stella York 5718. But I had a hard time finding a place that carried it. We called a few stores, and Wonderland Bridal was willing to bring it into the store for me to try on! The girls were so wonderful and kind. Always so willing to go above and beyond!
Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal. I remember trying on a few different dresses, and we saved the best for last. When Alicyn helped me put the dress on, she looked over at Patti and said this is definitely the one. Then I needed help finding jewelry that would match, and needed help finding my veil and Patti and Alicyn were there to help me every step of the way! With their help, I truly felt like real life Cinderella on my wedding day!
What was the best part of your wedding day?
This question is hard to answer, because I loved everything about our wedding day. It was truly the best day ever! But one of my fondest moments was the moment my father was walking me down the isle, and then I look up, and I see Sammy standing there waiting for me. Its surreal and in that moment youre looking into each others eyes, and youre thinking this is it, our happily ever after.
Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?
Even if it may seem overwhelming and stressful at times, try to remember to still enjoy every minute of it. It goes by so fast. On your wedding day, soak it all in! It is truly going to be one of the best, most magical days of your lives!
