We met through mutual friends at a few gatherings in New York. One night one of our friends dared us to kiss, and we have been inseparable ever since!
How long did you date before he popped the question?
We officially dated for about 2 ½ years before he proposed!
How did he propose?
We both love to travel, so when Neil booked a weekend getaway to the Bahamas I didnt think anything of it. Throughout the day Neil kept running off to the bathroom and told me that one of the crew members had yelled at him for running through the halls. He said he had complained to Guest Services and they were treating us to an exclusive diamond member welcome cocktail party on the top deck of the boat at sunset.
When we got there, there was absolutely no one there so I accused Neil of having the time and/or location wrong. As we were talking a photographer approached us and asked if we wanted to have our picture taken. We said yes and stood together for a nice photo. Neil paused for a moment to talk to me and before I had any idea what was going on, he was down on one knee with an absolutely amazing ring in his hand!
Where were you married and how did you pick the place?
We got married at the Village Club at Lake Success in New York. Neil actually found the venue on Instagram through someone he followed. I agreed to visit the place right before our flight back to Florida and from the moment we stepped inside, we fell in love! The entire flight home we were picking our menu, décor and everything in-between.
What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?
Our theme was Rustic Chic. Neil, being from South Florida has a bit of country in him, and me being from NYC loved the glitz and the glam. Our girls wore navy lace dresses to match my dress and all the guys matched them with navy ties and vests. Our flowers were rustic reds, yellows and oranges with thousands of tea lights on alternating tables, around the base of our flowers and throughout the entryway. Our head table had a beautiful blush sparkle tablecloth and our cake was covered in rainbow sprinkles. It was the perfect mix!
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We spent 10 days on 3 different islands of Hawaii! It was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation and we cant wait to go back!
Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?
I had been to several bridal salons before and even after visiting Wonderland, but no one had the patience and knowledge like Alicyn and Patti.

Alicyn and Patti made me feel like a princess! They only take one bride at a time and focus all of their attention on you. The smallest little details, such as writing you a hello message, with your name, on their welcome board on the wall really made the difference to me. Alicyn picked dresses that were exactly like what I had asked to see and she never tried to force a new style on me. I originally went in looking for a dramatic backless dress, and walked out with a strapless gown that I never thought I would wear but Alicyn made me feel so confident in it!
What was the best part of your wedding day?
Oh my gosh, I dont think I can pick any one moment! But, watching the double doors open at the church, feeling the attendant fluff my train, and locking eyes with my husband certainly was magical. Looking into his eyes, as I was probably crying myself, calmed me and made me realize what this day was all about. All the traveling and stress was worth it in that one moment.
Not to mention the fact that everyone looked strikingly beautiful, the church was beautifully decorated, the venue was stunning, the food was amazing, the flowers were breathtaking and the DJ was energetic and allowed us to have the time of our lives. I wouldnt change a single second of it!
Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?
Breathe! I put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure everything was perfect. A lot of people wont remember the little details as much as they remember how happy you were on your special day. I had so many family members and friends come up to us that night and simply say how happy we looked throughout the day. Remember that the day is about you and your soon to be husband or wife and everything else is an added bonus!
