Style
Ball gowns automatically come to mind when you think of a princess or fairy tale wedding. You can have the volume but beware of hoop skirts. Hoop skirts actually have a structured hoop that keeps the gown full. This will make your gown very difficult to sit and move in. Instead opt for a tulle skirt that will allow you to make it fuller layer by layer. If you need to wear two in order for the dress to look bigger, do it! You can remove one skirt after the ceremony and still have it look amazing but still be able to dance the night away.

Do you want the fairy tale wedding but don't see yourself in a ball gown, try a drop waist! You can still get the dramatic bottom with a fitted bodice that will show off your shape.

Color
Cinderella wore her blue ballgown when she first met the prince at the ball but wore white to her wedding. Wedding dresses come in many different shades of white and off-white.
Instead of having your gown made in blue, have your gown in ivory. You can use the light blue as an accent color and have your bridesmaids wear it instead.

While Puffy sleeves are reserved for 80's nostalgia, off the shoulder styles can give your princess gown that elegant touch. Nothing says romantic like a soft bare shoulder.
