Love Story: Merissa & Luis

_278a

We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Merissa Luis, who were married March 24th, 2018.

When and how did you meet?

We met in person for the first time in April 25, 2014 at Hooters, but it was three months before that when we met online and began to chat.

How long did you date before he popped the question?

From the first night, we never left each others side and began dating in late April 2014. He asked me to marry him Nov. 22,2016

How did he propose?

We were on a trip to New York with my family for my cousins wedding. When we arrived, we went to the central park zoo and you could tell that he was nervous or anxious about something. He was very uptight and his hands were sweaty. He just couldn’t sit still. We walked down the stairs to the bear enclosure and my dad turns to us and says stand in front of it and Luis you kneel down. Well of course my stubborn self, I said well why is he going to kneel down and Im going to stand, so I proceeded to kneel with him. My dad snaps the picture and I stand up, but Luis didn’t move. He opened up a box and there was my ring. I said yes before he could even ask. My sister had signs and fake flowers that she pulled out of her backpack. It was definitely memorable.

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

We got married at Boca Pointe in Boca Raton , Florida. We knew we wanted a country club and have been here many times and thought the ambience and the food were incredible. My mom and I literally went to 3 places and knew this was the one. The staff was incredible and Bee Alexis my wedding planner was the absolute best. I cannot say enough about the team here.

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

It was vintage theme with champagnes, golds, and white. I really wanted something clean looking, simple, yet elegant.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We have not yet, but are planning a trip to Cuba.

Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?

Why Wonderland? The answer is simple, they are the most amazing team of women. They truly cared about my perfect day. I wasn’t a number or a money sign to them, I was a woman walking through their door and they had the most important mission to find the perfect dress for the best day of my life. A day I will always remember. A dress that made me feel beautiful.

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

From the day I walked in, I knew this was the place. It’s actually kind of funny, instead of finding the dress I loved and not worrying about the place I bought it from,  I was going to make a dress that they carried work, but that wasn’t the case at all. Wonderland had a large selection of dresses and one more beautiful than the next. I thought I knew what I wanted, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The one thing I thought I didn’t want (tulle), I ended with. They just knew what would look the best on my body type. They showed me dresses that I picked out and waited till the end to say “please try this on” and as I pulled it up over my hips, I looked at Amber and said “ This is the dress”. At that moment, I said yes to the dress.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

Marrying my best friend, my soulmate, the love of my life surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. Bonus: Having our son be there to witness the love of his mom and dad. Having him apart of this day truly meant the world to us.

Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?

Don’t sweat the small stuff. There are going to be hiccups, disagreements, and drama let it go. Always remember that this day is for the two of you. It is YOUR perfect day, no-one else’s. You CANNOT make everyone happy, but you can make yourselves. Music, food, and of course YOUR DRESS is the most important. This is what people will remember.

Designer Spotlight| Fall 2018

It’s almost Fall which means a new bridal season is upon us. This collection of Stella York wedding dresses is one of our favorites by far. These wedding gowns are the perfect balance of classic and modern. Here are just some of the details that you can expect to see and be inspired by.

Lace, Lace, and more Lace

There was a time where lace wedding dresses were a dated look; but this isn’t your grandma’s lace.

The beautiful weather we are lucky to have in Florida makes for gorgeous outdoor weddings. We love this garden-inspired wedding dress which is lace and tulle over regency organza. The lattice pattern of the lace appliques gives the skirt movement and brings to mind a flowing garden feel.

This gorgeous A-line wedding gown has a beautifully detailed illusion back and is delicately finished with buttons under a zipper closure.

Another of our favorite lace dresses is this simple boho wedding dress with French tulle. This is the perfect wedding gown to compliment your beach wedding. The cotton style lace of the bodice gives this wedding dress an effortless style with a v-neck and open keyhole back. The modern bride looks for comfort and this flowy skirt will definitely make walking on the sand and dancing the night away an absolute breeze.

Dramatic Skirts

A bride doesn’t want to walk down the aisle and everyone say that her dress made her look cute. She wants jaws to drop when she makes her grand entrance. This beaded trumpet style wedding gown will turn heads and breakneck speed. The sexy silhouette of this wedding dress is fitted through the bodice and hip and flares with a full tulle skirt.

The stunning low back has an illusion panel that makes the back appear lower than it is giving the bride a little bit of sexy to this sophisticated look.

This next wedding gown is for the bride looking for a romantic ballgown style with plenty of sparkle. The 3-D flowers and sparkle tulle underlay give this wedding gown dimension that demands all the attention in the room. The lightly lined bodice gives this ballgown a relaxed look that has boning for structure but doesn’t make the bride feel suffocated such as a fully lined beaded bodice might.

Straps

Drama and romance make this next wedding dress an amazing choice for indoor or outdoor nuptials. The see through illusion bodice and full skirt combined with the amazing shape will give the bride wearing this a sweet but sassy look for her wedding day.

It’s so hard to be surrounded by beautiful wedding gowns and not have more than one fave. This stunning mermaid wedding dress has everything a girl could want; a sheer peek-a-boo neckline gives the bride that flirtatious look with out sacrificing her shape, an absolutely amazing train scattered with romantic appliques, and of course the sophisticated beaded strap that falls off the shoulder in rows.

If you are still searching for the perfect wedding gown for your special day! Look no further! Set up your appointment with Wonderland Bridal today and let one of our stylists introduce you to the wedding dress of your dreams!

Love Story: Jen & Del

103logo

We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Jen Del, who were married at the Sundy House!

When and how did you meet?

We meet online — OKC, to be exact.

How long did you date before he popped the question?

About 6 months!

How did he propose?

We took a trip to California together for my 35th birthday! We traveled to San Francisco and he proposed in Calistoga, California at Venge Vineyards.  He had the entire day planned from start to finish.  He even had photographers who were supposedly there to update photos for Venge’s website.  I thought it would probably happen at some point in California, but his preparation for this day was out of this world!!! An absolute fairytale!

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

We decided on Sundy House in Delray Beach, Florida for our wedding venue.  It was our perfect place.  Beautiful botanical gardens and the most amazing staff and catering ever! It is also a bed and breakfast which made for a perfect bridal ad honeymoon suite.

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

We chose a rustic chic theme — colors lavender and grey.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We took a trip to northern Vietnam –  Hanoi, Sapa Valley and Ha Long Bay.

Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?

After reading awesome reviews from Wedding Wire and The Knot, I decided to schedule an appointment with Alicyn.

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

Alicyn was absolutely incredible! She was so patient and kind.  She eased all my worries and helped me say YES! to my perfect wedding dress! Even after my wedding she assisted me in preserving my dress.  She was the best! She was not pushy – helped me find my style of dress in my price range

What was the best part of your wedding day?

My husband wrote a song for me and played the night of our wedding.  It was nothing short of perfection.

Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?

The ONLY time it is acceptable to settle..

Disclaimer: We do not advocate settling for your wedding dress. This is not the time to have buyer’s remorse. You still want the vision of you in your wedding dress even 30 years later to take your breath away!

There is only one time where a bride will have absolutely no choice and this is ok. We call this the perfect storm where time and budget come in to play.

clock

The average wedding planning time is between 10-12 months. Not everyone wants to wait that long to get married so we are finding that more and more couples are planning their wedding in 6 months or even as low as 3. With a shorter time frame, there is more pressure to find a wedding dress that you love with enough time to have it shipped, altered, and steamed or pressed. Since the average time to have a wedding dress made and delivered is 5-6 months, this can cause a little bit of stress to the bride to be.

In the case of a short time frame, there are options to pay to have a wedding dress shipped with a rush, find a wedding gown that is already in stock with the designer, or you can find something off the rack. Depending on your timeline, all of these options make it easier to find a wedding dress for your big day.

The trouble arises when the bride can’t find anything she loves and is pressed for time with a limited budget. In this case, this is what we recommend:

  • Give yourself a deadline. If your wedding is a month out and you still don’t have a wedding dress, designate a day to go shopping where your goal is to have one by the end of the day.
  • Spend some time before you begin shopping to research designers you like and styles of wedding dresses you think you may want to try on and make appointments where they carry these designers.
  • Before setting an appointment ask the shop you are calling if they have what you are looking for in your price range and time frame. Keep in mind that the more intricate detail you want, the more it is going to cost.
  • Try on several silhouettes and ask for stylist recommendations
  • Broaden your search. If you are having a hard time finding something with  beading, lace, long sleeves, and a low back maybe eliminate one or two of these things to give yourself more options of things to try on.
  • Ask yourself these questions: do I feel beautiful? Can I see myself getting married in this?
  • If there is a wedding dress that checks all of your boxes, get it! You don’t want to miss your opportunity to get the perfect dress because you were looking for something else.

Love Story: Jennifer & Jeremy

We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Jennifer Jeremy, who were married March 10th, 2018.

www.stephanieW.com, blog.stephanieW.com

When and how did you meet?

Jeremy and I both attended FAU and had mutual friends, but we met and became friends while working at Olive Garden in 2008.

How long did you date before he popped the question?

7 years!

How did he propose?

We were on a hiking trip for our 7 year anniversary. When we reached the summit of Cowrock Mountain, in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I sat on a rock to meditate and soak in the beauty. I turned to Jeremy and said, “When we decide to get married, I’d love for you to propose somewhere like this!” I swear…and was so embarrassed when he turned around, slightly pale faced, and got down on one knee! I was looking around in disbelief and kept asking if he’s serious. He was of course, very serious, and it was a magical moment that we shared alone. We had no cell phone service and a he had hidden a bottle of champagne is his backpack. We hiked into the forest, hung our hammocks up, and celebrated!

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

We were married in Live Oak, Florida, at Heritage Park & Gardens. We, along with our family and friends, camped at nearby Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. Jeremy’s family lives in Live Oak and the Suwannee River holds a special place in our hearts. One afternoon a few years ago, we came upon HPG while driving around town and decided to hike the pines behind it. We snacked on wild blackberries and found a field to practice some yoga. After the engagement, we knew we wanted to get married in nature. We remembered the Live Oak park and set an appointment to visit. We toured the historical house and gardens once and knew it’d be the perfect venue space! We had a house to get ready in, but the wedding events could be outside, in nature.

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

We wanted our wedding to exemplify our bohemian style. It was a floral, nature inspired theme with many colors! I could not decide on set colors… I love them all!

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Nicaragua for 2 weeks and it was beautiful!!

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

The staff was friendly and worked with my budget. They helped me envision our day and pick a dress that was perfect for me.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

Listening to the speeches from my Dad, MOH and Best Man. Sitting there, listening, allowed me to be present and grateful for my friends and family.

Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?

You have the choice to allow stress into your planning experience and on your wedding day. Choose to be present and grateful. Your union is what matters, not the centerpieces. HAVE FUN!

Love Story: Lillian & Jonathan

LJW-1669We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Lillian Jonathan, who were married March 31st, 2018.

LJW-1616

When and how did you meet?

We met by chance as we were both celebrating friends’ birthdays in Fort Lauderdale. Our interaction was a short 5 minutes where we exchanged some preliminary information about each other and telephone numbers as my friends hurried me to leave.

How long did you date before he popped the question?

We dated for a little over 2 years and a half.

How did he propose?

He suggested we plan a last minute spontaneous get away for a long weekend where we originally had no plans. I thought it was odd but was not going to question the opportunity for a much needed vacation! We booked a short cruise to the Bahamas and Great Stirrup Cay. He had been acting so weird the entire cruise, said he wasn’t able to sleep, wasn’t feeling good, etc to which I kept thinking either he was sick or just wasn’t having a good time (little did I know his nerves were getting the best of him!). On the last day, we departed the cruise ship on to Norwegian’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay. I wanted to set our bags and stuff on the tanning chairs close to where everyone else was, with the DJ playing and the bar next to us. He kept insisting that a co -worker told him about a great quiet spot with hammocks underneath the palm trees where we could relax. Again I kept thinking it was weird as my fiancé is full of life and always up for having a good time. Honestly, a proposal never crossed my mind as again this was a last minute, short weekend cruise. We continued to walk in the heat with all of our stuff along with my complaining that this hammock section better be worth the walk. We settled on some tanning chairs in the shade underneath some nice tall palm trees overlooking the water. We went into the water for a little while and somehow or another began talking about life, engagement, marriage and kids. When we exited the water and came back to our chairs he turned to me and asked “So when do you want to get engaged?” Of course my response was “I don’t know, anytime, now” to which I meant now meaning anytime in the near future, not that very moment! Lol He pulled out a ring and said “Ok, let’s do it”.  =)

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

We were married at the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society’s New River Inn. It is Broward County’s oldest standing hotel, preserved as a history museum. We picked this location as we had seen a wedding taking place there as we drove past by chance a year or two before and thought it was beautiful. My dream was always to have an outdoor wedding that was atypical of the normal South Florida weddings. I wanted a Plantation style home to be the backdrop of our big day. However we mainly picked this place because it was about a minute down the street from the place we met which happens to be the same place we ended our wedding night. After the wedding, our closest friends (who happened to be with us the night of our meeting) and other friends and family walked down the street with us to Public House, the lounge we met at.  We ended the night dancing away there in our wedding attire!

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

I wanted all neutrals and natural wood items for our wedding. We wanted it to be outdoors, and have a laid back and breezy vibe to it. Our goal was for everyone to have fun and feel at home.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We went to a beach town in Costa Rica and also spent a few days in the volcano region there as well. It was absolutely amazing!

Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?

I had been in search of a particular Stella York dress I had seen online and Wonderland Bridal had it in stock. It is not however the dress I settled on.

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

From beginning to end the ladies of Wonderland Bridal were so sweet and welcoming. They really made me feel comfortable with my experience and as if I had known them for years. Everything about the inside of wonderland bridal is magical. It is decorated so beautifully and the attention to detail of everything from the personalized sign for your fitting room to your gift bag once your purchase is made really makes the whole experience come to life. It really is a wonderland for brides that makes you never want to leave!

What was the best part of your wedding day?

I’d have to say the best part was taking a moment to watch everyone during the dinner hour conversing, eating and enjoying. I was able to take in the moment of the lights twinkling around the trees and the museum, the candles flickering on the tables and the classic jazz music I had requested to be played during this time. The venue turned out better than I could have ever imagined and moved me to a different place/era in time.

Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?

We did not technically have a wedding planner except for the day of. Our caterer happened to be pretty amazing and helped a lot along the way and was able to contract a ton of stuff for us however if I could do it again I would hire a wedding planner throughout the entire process. I am a pretty resourceful and organized gal however there are so many options and vendors and things to consider during the planning process having someone as a foreperson for you to direct you through out who has expertise in the business seems pretty invaluable in hindsight.

Reasons not to Rent your Wedding Dress

We get a few calls here and there from brides inquiring on wedding gown rentals. A very limited amount of places in South Florida rent wedding dresses. Why so few? There are more Cons than Pros. While Renting your wedding gown seems like a good idea on the surface, there are many more reasons not to!

rent or buy

Cost

A budget conscious bride might look into rentals thinking it could save her some money. In reality, renting a wedding gown can actually end up costing as much as the purchase of a regularly priced gown. Rental pricing depends on the designer. If you are looking at a high-end designer you could end up spending about $1,000 or more. While a lot of rental places are insured for damaged wedding dresses, they will often ask for a deposit. Many places that rent wedding gowns will charge a fee in case something happens to the dress. If someone spills red wine all over your gown, there goes your deposit. If someone steps on your train and puts a big hole in your gown, there goes your deposit. If someone burns a hole in it with a cigarette, which we have seen happen more than once, there goes your deposit. You can see where we are going with this. If you are wearing a wedding gown you purchased, you won’t have to tip-toe around your ceremony and your reception trying to protect your gown from being damaged out of fear of losing your deposit. Who wants to spend their entire wedding doing that? There are other ways to save money.

wine-stained-wedding-dress-before

Alterations

Simple alterations may be done depending on your agreement with the store you rent your gown from. Online sites we visited did not allow alterations to be done at all. Not all brides are the same height or will wear the same shoe height. The standard length of wedding gowns are meant to fit brides who are between 5’7″ and 5’9″. If you are petite, this would not work for you. On a bride who is 5 feet tall, wearing a 3″ to 5″ heeled shoe could still render her gown too long. Also, depending on the style of dress, it may not even be proportionate to the bride’s size. The beauty of having a gown that is all your own is having it tailored to your body. Your curves should fill it in just right.

WG3798_BSB_279

Availability

With renting a wedding gown, you have a limited amount of time with it. You can borrow it anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks. That sounds like just enough time, but what if the gown doesn’t work at the last minute. Maybe it is not quite what you imagined or the wrong size. The turn-around time in getting another gown to you by your wedding day is not something you want to play with. You will also need to plan to have someone take care of returning your gown while you are on your honeymoon, if needed.

Experience/Sentimental Value

Wedding gown shopping is a rite of passage. A bride goes with her entourage to look at wedding dresses and try them on and share an intimate moment. There is nothing intimate about ordering a wedding dress online. Wearing a rented wedding gown could possibly mean that several brides have worn it before you. Beading can be pesky and fall off. If they have fallen off a gown at another bride’s wedding, they may be missing from yours. There is no guarantee of every single bead being sewn back on by the time you wear it.

6286.1464814342.0 (3)

A bride’s wedding is one of the best days of her life. Deciding to purchase the rented wedding gown she wore is usually not an option. This means she will not have the wedding dress as a keepsake and will not be able to save it for her daughter to wear.

Are you still looking for the perfect wedding dress to wear on your special day? Schedule your appointment today and let us at Wonderland Bridal help you find you something absolutely amazing.

Stella York Designer Trunk Show 5/4/18-5/6/18

We at Wonderland Bridal couldn’t be more excited about our upcoming Stella York Designer Trunk Show. This will take place Friday, May 4, 2018 through Sunday, May 6, 2018. Here is everything you need to know!

What is a Designer Trunk Show?

For those gals who don’t know what a Bridal Designer Trunk Show is, here is the 411!

A Bridal Designer Trunk Show is a special event where a specific designer will showcase the newest styles from their most recent collection.

While we have already received our shipment of dresses from Stella York’s Spring 2018 Collection, a number of the wedding dresses that will be here are exclusive to the trunk show and will not be available to try on once the show ends.

All of the photos on this blog are just a few of the dresses that will be at our trunk show.

6593A1-Stella-York.EveryBodyEveryBride

Benefits

For a bride attending a trunk show they have an amazing opportunity to try on more wedding dresses from a beloved designer than the store already has in inventory. (That’s a lot since we have dedicated most of our showroom to this incredible wedding dress designer.) Every season bridal shops hand select their wedding dress samples based on what their brides have been asking for and the latest trends. During this designer trunk show, Stella York will expand this collection by adding several more gowns from this season. If you are looking for a specific Stella York wedding dress that no one seems to have, you can likely find it at our designer trunk show.

A designer trunk show is not a sale but you can find the one you love and still fit your budget since we are offering a promotion of 15% off your total purchase when you buy any regular price wedding dress from Stella York.

Are you still looking for a photographer or makeup artist? Look no further! You will also be able to connect with two of Wonderland Bridal’s Preferred Wedding Vendors; Photographer, Helena Carmouze of Provoke Photography and Makeup Artist, Gizella Manzano of G.E. Makeup Artistry. We have worked with them many times and are thrilled to introduce all of our brides to these wonderful ladies.

How do I prepare for a trunk show?

First, schedule your appointment as soon as possible! Wonderland Bridal runs by appointment only and we are booking up quickly. This is an event you definitely do not want to miss!

Make sure that the person whose opinion matters most to you, will be available or at least accessible via facetime  in case you fall in love with a wedding dress that is exclusive to the trunk show. We may be able to borrow it from the designer for a fee after the trunk show, but this is only after it has finished traveling to other shows across the country. That could take a couple of months. You will also want to make sure that the person who is paying for the dress will be with you in case you find the one. You don’t want to miss out on the trunk discounts which will only be available through Sunday, 5/6/18.

Wedding Dress Shopping Etiquette

By now you have no doubt read plenty of blogs and received tons of advice on what to expect during your wedding gown shopping experience. There are a few details that get missed but can sometimes be equally as important. Our experts have a few pieces of wedding gown shopping etiquette that every bride should be sure to remember.

Who should I invite to the appointment?

Deciding who to invite to your appointment is probably the hardest part about wedding dress shopping. How do you know who to invite and who should stay at home? Well the first person you called after you got engaged should get an automatic invite. This will probably be the person or people who are closest to you. You will want to keep your entourage small. We recommend having no more than 5 people come to your appointments. Everyone wants to be able to boast that they were the one who picked out your wedding gown. Some opinions will be louder than others which may try to sway your decision or talk you out of a wedding dress you really love.

Do you have to bring your Mother-in-Law? If you have a good relationship and you want to bring her, you should. It could be a wonderful bonding experience. Bring positive people who just want you to be happy. Also, invite the person who is paying for your wedding dress. Nothing is worse than having your own, “Say Yes to the Dress” moment and the person paying for it is not there to seal the deal.

Who pays for my dress?

Traditionally the family of the bride is responsible for the cost of the wedding dress. Today, most brides are paying for it themselves. If someone else has offered to pay for it, make sure you know up front how much they are prepared to spend and what they are paying for so that if you do go over budget you have a plan to cover the balance.

Why do I have to schedule an appointment? Can’t I just go into a store and look around?

Searching for a wedding gown requires some planning. You should be doing as much research as you can about the bridal shops you are making appointments with. The best place to purchase your wedding gown is a shop that has excellent customer service. You want to make sure that the bridal shop is prepared and excited to see you. If you come in without an appointment, it is not guaranteed that you will be able to try on wedding dresses or that there will even be a fitting area available for you.

If you just want to browse for now, keep in mind that the bridal stylists may be busy with customers and not available to answer all of your questions. Besides, you can’t really judge a wedding dress on a hanger. You have to see how it will look on your body and this is something your bridal stylist can recommend during your scheduled appointment.

Why do most bridal stores not allow young children?

Bridal shops can be a dangerous place for unsupervised children; there are pins that can poke, small beads than can pose as a choking hazard, and glass or heavy furniture that can fall on children and injure them. You may bring someone to help you watch them but this appointment time should be all about you and everyone should be giving you their undivided attention.

What kind of undergarments should I wear to my appointment?

This is probably the question most asked by brides scheduling a wedding gown appointment for the first time. First and foremost, understand that there will be someone helping you change into wedding dresses. Your Bridal Stylist wants you to feel comfortable but here are some tips on what undergarments to wear.

A bra is not usually necessary since most wedding dresses are fully structured or have an illusion (see through) back. If you would feel more comfortable with a bra we recommend a strapless one.

Make sure that any panties you wear are a light color and simple pattern so you don’t see them through the wedding dress or have distracting panty lines.

If you want to try on wedding gowns with shape wear like Spanx be sure that you understand that this could fight the natural structure of the wedding dress you love and could make the interior of it feel very warm. Our advice is to try wedding gowns with and with out the extra help.  You may decide that you don’t need it at all.

Love Story: Christina & Kyle

Christina&Kyle1832We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Christina & Kyle, who were married December 16th, 2017.

When and how did you meet?

We didn’t even realize it but we went to the same church and never met each other until his cousin got me a job at a lab where he was working. That was back in 2009. I was waiting for an interview when I first saw him and I gave him a dirty look like why are you looking at me??

How long did you date before he popped the question?

We dated for about 7 years.

How did he propose?

It was July 16, 2016 and I was mad at him because he didn’t propose to me yet. But what I didn’t know that he has a ring with him for a while waiting to find the right time. We had an argument about it so he decided to just do it. He took me down memory lane. We finished a movie and after he drove me the spot where he realized he first liked me. And then to where we had our first date, to all our make out spots and places where we had our best memories. Then we ended up at the lab where we met. And alone in the parking lot he got down on one knew and told me that he knew I was special from the moment he met me and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. And if I would marry him. And of course I said yes.

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

We actually got married a few months after in December 2016. My grandpa was put into hospice with only a few weeks to live and I was heartbroken that he wouldn’t be able to be at our wedding so Kyle thought it would be a good idea to get married with him. We had a little ceremony in his room with our grandmas as bridesmaids, and a few days later he passed. Our wedding took place a year later at the Living Sculpture Sanctuary. I just randomly and luckily came across this gem. I was searching online for a unique outdoor space to have a rustic wedding and it was the first place I visited. It was perfect.

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

I wanted a romantic and rustic feel for our wedding. The colors were light pink/blush, navy blue and gold.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We went to the Excellence Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?

I looked online for places that had styles that I liked and again it was my first stop. I had other appointments, but I didn’t have to go anywhere else, they had exactly what I was looking for.

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

They were so helpful and nice from the moment I walked in. And they, in a nice way, put up with my BS. I told them what I wanted and against my will they made me try on the opposite. But that technique made the experience even better. I did not want a strapless sweetheart dress, I wanted something different –and they made me try on a few strapless sweetheart dresses. (One was actually a runner up to my final choice). I tried on all the ones I didn’t want to and then once I put on the last dress I wanted everyone knew it was the one. I know they made me try on those dresses strategically so that I knew for sure what I wanted and that made finding my dress all the more special. You need to see yourself in other dresses because you just never know how a dress in a magazine or online will look on our body type. Brides are usually stubborn about that but the ladies at wonderland know how to get you in the right dress.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

It was all so perfect, but I think our first dance was the best part. Your wedding day is such a whirlwind and just those few minutes of swaying in his arms makes everything slow down and the beauty of it all just hits you and wow the ceremony is over already.

Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?

Don’t stress!!! No one knows what your vision is except you. So if it isn’t exactly what you wanted who cares! Also at least a day of wedding planner is a must! Mine was just amazing she was able to put together everything even better than what I imagined.
